SPLASHED was established with the view that colour is not merely decorative — it is experiential, cultural and a reflection of how people express identity through space.

Founded in Johannesburg in 2017, we are a decorative and architectural colour company built around craftsmanship and the belief that colour remains one of the most accessible mediums through which people create, restore and elevate the feeling of home.

As colour specialists, we develop coatings, curated palettes and creator-led colour collections intended to shape how spaces are experienced — from family homes in Seshego, Soweto, Midstream and Houghton, to residences, workplaces and environments where individuality, culture and identity are expressed through design.

Guided by craftsmanship and enduring performance, we continue to create products designed to balance accessibility with lasting value.

The philosophy behind SPLASHED was shaped by something deeply personal. Inspired by his own upbringing without a place to truly call home, and a promise to build one for his mother before her passing in 2012, founder Bonga Masoka came to understand colour as more than a finish, but as one of the most accessible ways to create dignity, comfort and belonging.

Today, SPLASHED is building towards a broader ambition: contributing to a more thoughtful relationship between colour, home and the human experience across Africa.
